"After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away," Fawcett's longtime romantic partner Ryan O'Neal said in a statement released by Fawcett's publicist, Paul Bloch. "Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world."
Watch a special edition of "20/20" TONIGHT at 10 p.m. ET for the Barbara Walters special "Farrah's Love."
Fawcett became a symbol of the will to survive through her years-long battle with cancer, which was chronicled in the recent TV documentary "Farrah's Story."
Her death comes on the heels of O'Neal's declaration that she agreed to marry him.
"I've asked her to marry me, again, and she's agreed," O'Neal, 68, told Barbara Walters who sat down with O'Neal and others close to Fawcett in the final days of the actress' life.
Fawcett and O'Neal began dating in 1980 and lived together with son Redmond. The two never officially tied the knot, but not for O'Neal's lack of trying.
"I used to ask her to marry me all the time," he said. "But ... it just got to be a joke, you know. We just joked about it."

King of Pop Michael Jackson is dead: official

Just got the news this morning. Feel like to note this in my blog for future reference...who knows...

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Michael Jackson, the child star turned King of Pop who set the world dancing but whose musical genius was overshadowed by a bizarre lifestyle and sex scandals, died on Thursday. He was 50.
Jackson was pronounced dead at about 2:26 p.m. PDT (5:26 EDT) after arriving at a Los Angeles hospital in full cardiac arrest, said Fred Corral of the Los Angeles County Coroner's office. The cause of death was not known and an autopsy would likely take place on Friday, he said.

Jackson's sudden death had been reported earlier by U.S. media, which said he was taken ill at his home and rushed to the hospital by paramedics who found him not breathing when they arrived.

Known as the "King of Pop," for hits that included "Thriller" and "Billie Jean," Jackson's dramatic, one-gloved stage presence and innovative dance moves were imitated by legions of fans around the world.
He transformed music videos and his lifetime record sales tally is believed to be around 750 million, which, added to the 13 Grammy Awards he received, made him one of the most successful entertainers of all time.

But Jackson's belief that "I am Peter Pan in my heart", his preference for the company of children, his friendship with a chimp, his high-pitched voice and numerous plastic surgeries also earned him critics and the nickname "Wacko Jacko."

Jackson, who had lived as a virtual recluse since his acquittal in 2005 on charges of child molestation, had been scheduled to launch a comeback tour from London next month.

Quincy Jones, who helped arrange the music on the album "Thriller" and produced the "Off the Wall" album, told MSNBC: "I am absolutely devastated at this tragic and unexpected news."
"For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at such a young age, I just don't have the words. I've lost my little brother today, and part of my soul has gone with him."

SOLD-OUT SHOWS
Jackson had been due to start a series of concerts in London on July 13 running until March 2010. The singer had been rehearsing in the Los Angeles area for the past two months. The shows for the 50 London concerts sold out within minutes of going on sale in March.

"Rarely has the world received a gift with the magnitude of artistry, talent, and vision as Michael Jackson," said Neil Portnow, president and CEO of The Recording Academy in a statement.
"He was a true musical icon whose identifiable voice, innovative dance moves, stunning musical versatility, and sheer star power carried him from childhood to worldwide acclaim."

There were concerns about Jackson's health in recent years but the promoters of the London shows, AEG Live, said in March that Jackson had passed a 4-1/2 hour physical examination with independent doctors.

Outside the hospital in Los Angeles about 200 fans and reporters gathered on Thursday, waiting for confirmation of Jackson's death or condition.

Some fans were crying and hugging each other, and others were climbing atop fences to get a better look at a microphone stand where a news conference was supposed to take place.

"I hope he's gone to God, and I hope that he's free of all the troubles he's been plagued with," Tonya Blazer, 50, who said she had been a fan going back more than four decades to his days as a child star.
"I just feel like I'm paying tribute to him," said Dawn Burgess, 42, a fan who said she had posters of Michael pinned to her bedroom wall when she was a child.

CHILD STAR TO MEGASTAR
Jackson was born on August 29, 1958, in Gary, Indiana, the seventh of nine children. Five Jackson boys -- Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael -- first performed together at a talent show when Michael was 6. They walked off with first prize and went on to become a best-selling band, The Jackson Five, and then The Jackson 5.

Jackson made his first solo album in 1972, and released "Thriller" in 1982, which became a smash hit that yielded seven top-10 singles. The album sold 21 million copies in the United States and at least 27 million worldwide.
The next year, he unveiled his signature "moonwalk" dance move while performing "Billie Jean" during an NBC special.

In 1994, Jackson married Elvis Presley's only child, Lisa Marie, but the marriage ended in divorce in 1996. Jackson married Debbie Rowe the same year and had two children, before splitting in 1999. The couple never lived together.

Jackson has three children named Prince Michael I, Paris Michael and Prince Michael II, known for his brief public appearance when his father held him over the railing of a hotel balcony, causing widespread criticism.
New Yorkers and tourists in the city's Times Square were shocked at the news of Jackson's death.

"I don't know what to say. It's sad, it's really, really sad," said Nicole Smith, an 18-year-old student from Brooklyn, New York, in Times Square. "My mother was a fan. I listened to his music."

"I'm shocked. I thought someone was lying to me when I first heard it. I was a fan from when he was a little boy and then he got weird," said Sue Sheider, 51, a teacher from Long Island.

K by Clarks - my investment

Dah lama tak masuk sini. Tak berkesempatan...plus sebok sket skrg nih... Hmmm... nk citer pe ye? Oh ye... suppose entry ni aku tulis a month ago tp mcm biasalah, kalau dah connections asyik out je, buhsan plak jadinya.

So citenye gini... jgn salah sangka kalau tgk gambar2 kat bwh tu... aku saje nak abadikan kenangan membeli kasut mahal dlm hidup aku nih. Oh well, maybe for org lain, biasa2 je harga kasut Clarks ni tp bagi aku.. ohhh... kopak purse beb!!! Ini le kali pertama dlm seumur hidup aku beli kasut mahal nih - it costs me a whopping RM278 for this new pair!! Apparently, salesgirl tu kata this is the latest design, so no less maaa.....

Why, if i think it's so expensive, i still bought it? Heheh... this is why..
1) My dearest hubby 'cucuk' me to buy this pair - reason dia, takpe, beli le yg mahal terus, at least last longer... worth the price paid.
Huhh??? Ada ke kasut tht can last more than 3 years??? Kalau dah kasut tuuu je yg dipakai evryday... takde kasut lain, i think jangka hayat dia sethaun je cukup le kot...

2) I have been suffering from sakit kaki, sakit tumit and segala yg berkaitan dgn kaki. So alternatively, i gave in to my hubby's persuasion cos i think Clarks is a good brand for feet therapy. And indeed, it's true.. after a month wearing it, the pair feel so good and comfortable on my feet. Boleh berjalan jauh la... and my pain is reduced.
So betul la org kata, quality comes with a price. U have to pay for the good & reliable items.

3) Other design which costs lesser than the above looks so old on my feet, which makes me look like aunty-aunty aged 50++. So again, doesn't meet my purpose for a brand new shoes - comfortable, nice & trendy, and affordable.
I'm stil young at heart... heheheh....

So my dear baby Clarks, be tough... don't show yr wear & tear yet until u are 2 years old on my feet... heheheh...

Kids at KB (School hols 30may09 - 14june09)

We went back hometown last weekend - to fetch my kids home. They have been there during the first week of school holidays, following Tok Ma & Tok Abah back home. So, before the last weekend of school holiday approach us, we better get them back here first in order to avoid massive traffic later.

Fuhh... it's refreshing.. to be back to where you grew older and wiser.... Wish to stay longer but work..work...and work.... normal excuse that we can't avoid... sigh...

I noticed my kids are a bit chubbier and fairer for a week of hometown vacation. So, their Tok Abah and Tok Ma's conclusion is tht mama (me!) doesn't feed them enough here! Uhh...
Having this idea of schooling them there but a lot of things need to be considered. plus, Ayah is not really into that idea... having to be parted with his kids for sometime. only meet during school holidays??? Emm... don't think so lah he said....

So this is the duo that we fetched to be with us again. Pix a bit blur, snap at night with cameraphone. K.Long & A.Ngah, welcome back home. Ayah, mama and adik really miss both of u! (cannot upload pix!! urghhh... tried so many times already.. will try some other time! I gave up with the network!!)

Subject: Thoughtful Lesson

There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only see the world, I will marry you.'

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend.

He asked her, 'Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?' The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn't expected that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him.
Her boyfriend left in tears and days later wrote a note to hersaying: 'Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before they were yours, they were mine.'

This is how the human brain often works when our status changes.Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who was always by their side in the most painful situations.

Life Is aGift
Today before you say an unkind word - Think of someone who can't speak.

Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someonewho has nothing to eat.

Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someonewho's crying out to GOD for a companion.

Today before you complain about life - Think of someone who diedtoo early on this earth.

Before you complain about your children - Think of someone whodesires children but they're barren..

Before you argue about your dirty house someone didn't clean orsweep - Think of the people who are living in the streets.

Before whining about the distance you drive Think of someone whowalks the same distance with their feet.

And when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had yourjob.

But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another - Remember that not one of us is without sin.

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile onyour face and think: you're alive and stillaround.

I PRAY THIS MOVES AROUND
THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE...

Too beautiful not to share.......

Raising Muslim Daughters

Raising Muslim Daughters. Resources and information for raising daughters ... Talibiddeen Jr.

and we need to ponder what are the best ways we can raise the trust ( amanah ) that Allah had bestow upon us.

Lets look at what Allah said in Surah Luqman and how many of us have done the same by way of tafseer of these verses or explaining in depth to our children :

13. And (remember) when Luqmân said to his son when he was advising him: "O my son! Join not in worship others with Allâh. Verily! Joining others in worship with Allâh is a great Zûlm (wrong) indeed.[]

14. And We have enjoined on man (to be dutiful and good) to his parents. His mother bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and hardship, and his weaning is in two years give thanks to Me and to your parents, unto Me is the final destination[].

15. But if they (both) strive with you to make you join in worship with Me others that of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not, but behave with them in the world kindly, and follow the path of him who turns to Me in repentance and in obedience. Then to Me will be your return, and I shall tell you what you used to do.

16. "O my son! If it be (anything) equal to the weight of a grain of mustard seed, and though it be in a rock, or in the heavens or in the earth, Allâh will bring it forth. Verily, Allâh is Subtle (in bringing out that grain), WellAware (of its place).

17. "O my son! AqimisSalât (perform AsSalât), enjoin (people) for AlMa'rûf (Islâmic Monotheism and all that is good), and forbid (people) from AlMunkar (i.e. disbelief in the Oneness of Allâh, polytheism of all kinds and all that is evil and bad), and bear with patience whatever befall you. Verily! These are some of the important commandments ordered by Allâh with no exemption.

18. "And turn not your face away from men with pride, nor walk in insolence through the earth. Verily, Allâh likes not each arrogant boaster[].

19. "And be moderate (or show no insolence) in your walking, and lower your voice. Verily, the harshest of all voices is the voice (braying) of the ass."

20. See you not (O men) that Allâh has subjected for you whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and has completed and perfected His Graces upon you, (both) apparent (i.e Islâmic Monotheism, and the lawful pleasures of this world, including health, good looks, etc.) and hidden [i.e. One's Faith in Allâh (of Islâmic Monotheism) knowledge, wisdom, guidance for doing righteous deeds, and also the pleasures and delights of the Hereafter in Paradise, etc.]? Yet of mankind is he who disputes about Allâh without knowledge or guidance or a Book giving light!

21. And when it is said to them: "Follow that which Allâh has sent down", they say: "Nay, we shall follow that which we found our fathers (following). " (Would they do so) even if Shaitân (Satan) invites them to the torment of the Fire.

22. And whosoever submits his face (himself) to Allâh [i.e.(follows Allâh's Religion of Islâmic Monotheism), worships Allâh (Alone) with sincere Faith in the
(1) Oneness of His Lordship,
(2) Oneness of His worship, and
(3) Oneness of His Names and Qualities],
while he is a Muhsin (gooddoer i.e. performs good deeds totally for Allâh's sake without any show-off or to gain praise or fame etc. and does them in accordance with the Sunnah of Allâh's Messenger Muhammad SAW), then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold [Lâ ilâha ill-Allâh (none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh)]. And to Allâh return all matters for decision.

23. And whoever disbelieved, let not his disbelief grieve you (O Muhammad SAW),. to Us is their return, and We shall inform them what they have done. Verily, Allâh is the AllKnower of what is in the breasts (of men

[ 102]Such is Allaah, your Lord, none has the right to be worshipped but He, the Creator of all things. "So worship Him (alone)and He is the Wakeel (Trustee ,Disposer of affairs, Guardian),over all things." [Quran, Ch. 6, 102; translated meaning
